Reviews

‘I opened this book with high expectations. They have been admirably fulfilled.  Here we have a stand alone thriller about two lonely people who pursue a relationship of monthly weekends together in remote spots.  Suddenly one of these two fails to get to the rendezvous-vous and the other realises how very limited her knowledge of her  companion is . . . Gradually the reader pieces together some of the facts as an atmosphere of rising tension envelops everything. The intelligent way Jay, Lisa and others plan their actions is enjoyable and the suspense of the tale is palpable.’

All in a Day’s Work:

Posted on Nov 21, 2016 in Barry Forshaw, Crimetime, Deep Water | 4 Comments

I am finding it hard to find time to blog at the moment, but here is an article, ‘All in a Day’s Work,’ that I have just written for Barry Forshaw’s splendid website: crimetime.co.uk:  http://www.crimetime.co.uk/mag/index.php/showarticle/4741

It’s about how I found out about the science in my new novel, Deep Water, and the benefits of getting out of the study and into the lab.

Very interesting article, Christine. I could not be a writer, especially of fiction, but if I did, research would be the part I would love. And the next novel set at a station in Antarctica sounds very good.

Thanks, Tracy. Yes, I do enjoy the research. In fact it is sometimes a temptation to go on doing it when it is really time to start writing.

That was fascinating, I loved reading how you moved to a different area of expertise. And can’t wait for Antarctica…

Thanks, Moira. I always enjoy doing research. You can take the girl out of the university . . . And I am having such fun with the Antarctic setting.
